Shelving for professional laundry workflows

Laundry storage built around clean and soiled flows.

Organise textile receiving, clean-linen storage, order preparation and internal transport with a modular system specified for the conditions in each laundry zone.

From intake to dispatch

Keep the two sides of the process apart.

Professional laundries need a deliberate route for used textiles and a protected route for clean linen. Shelving supports that plan, but physical separation, containers and operating procedures define it.

01

Receive and sort

Move used textiles in dedicated closed bags or containers to the soiled side. Do not use open clean-linen shelving as an intake surface.

02

Wash, dry and finish

Keep staging points aligned with the equipment route, leaving clear space for carts, operators, cleaning and ventilation.

03

Store and dispatch clean linen

Place folded textiles above floor level in a clean, dry zone, then prepare orders for internal distribution or collection.

One process, clearly defined zones

Intake, clean store and dispatch.

Each stage has different risks and handling needs. Equipment, finish and mobility should be selected for the actual moisture level, cleaning method and route through the facility.

01

Industrial laundry

Plan receiving, processing buffers, clean storage and dispatch as separate functions with clear cart routes.

02

Hotel laundry

Group folded bedding, towels and room linen by destination, floor or delivery round.

03

Healthcare clean side

Use shelving for protected clean linen according to the facility's infection-control procedure; used or infectious textiles require their own closed route.

04

Supplies and packaging

Keep clean bags, wrapping materials and operating supplies in defined dry locations away from soiled handling.

Choose by environment

Dry clean store or persistently humid zone?

A laundry is not one uniform environment. Specify the finish independently for clean dry storage and for areas exposed to condensation, persistent humidity or regular wet cleaning.

Choose Chrome for dry indoor storage without persistent humidity or condensation, including clean-linen rooms and dry packaging stores.

Shelving supports an organised laundry workflow. It does not replace hygiene procedures, physical separation, ventilation, chemical-safety requirements or protection of clean linen from contamination.

Storage that moves with the work

Turn a compatible rack into a mobile linen unit.

A wheeled configuration can move clean folded textiles or supplies between defined stages. With CC-06 castors, the maximum load of the complete mobile unit is 330 kg.

  • Keep clean and soiled carts dedicated to their route and identify them according to the facility procedure.
  • Use the brakes before loading, unloading or working at the unit.
  • Check floor condition, thresholds, slopes, door widths and turning space.
  • Allow for the higher weight of wet textiles when planning loads and manual handling.

Plan the laundry workflow

Start with separation, moisture and cart routes.

A reliable layout begins with the process map: what is used or clean, where it waits and how it moves without crossing the wrong zone.

01

Map both flows

Draw the route for used textiles separately from the clean-linen route, including doors, lifts and dispatch points.

02

Measure the stock

Record folded-linen sizes, containers, peak volumes and the weight expected on each shelf or mobile unit.

03

Classify the environment

Identify dry rooms, condensation, wet cleaning and the exact chemicals used before selecting the finish.

04

Check movement

Leave safe aisle width and test thresholds, slopes, brakes and turning space for every planned mobile configuration.

Laundry shelving FAQ

Before you plan the laundry.

Can one shelving system serve both clean and soiled zones?

The same modular architecture can be specified in different areas, but clean and soiled flows should remain physically and operationally separate. Dedicated equipment, containers and site procedures are still required.

Which finish is suitable for a wet laundry zone?

noMICRO is the Ultra Power option for persistent humidity, condensation and regular wet cleaning. Confirm the exact detergents, concentrations and cleaning method before specification.

When is Chrome the better choice?

Chrome is intended for dry interiors such as a clean-linen store or dry supplies room without persistent humidity or condensation.

Can a rack be converted into a mobile linen unit?

Compatible racks can be fitted with CC-06 castors. The complete mobile unit can carry up to 330 kg; route, floor, brakes and load stability must also be assessed.

How much can a stationary rack carry?

Each shelf can carry up to 270 kg when the load is evenly distributed. A correctly assembled stationary rack can carry up to 950 kg depending on its configuration.

Does open shelving keep clean linen hygienic?

It supports access, visibility and organisation, but does not prevent contamination by itself. Clean linen must be protected and stored according to the facility's hygiene procedure.
